Learning Models

For this week, we had learnt a new topic which is Learning Theories. From this topic, we are exposed to a few learning models which are ASSURE MODEL, ADDIE MODEL and DICK MODEL. All these models are designed in order to give some guidelines to the teachers in preparing learning tasks and activities. As for example, ASSURE refers to:

Analyze learners
State objectives, Select Methods, Media and Materials
Utilize Media and Materials
Require Learner Participation
Evaluate and Revise

As we all know, we should look into many consideration in order to create or design an interesting activities to ensure it will motivates students to learn something. There are many aspect need to be thought such as learner’s characteristics, their background, the suitability of the materials that are going to be used in the classroom, different strategies of teaching and learning styles.

In my opinion, these models are very useful as to me as a future teacher. These models can be a useful guideline s to me in order to create and design activities that I am going to used in the classroom. These models also can make me think critically in order to find suitable and meaningful resources in order to use in designing my task for the assignment. Hope this information will help me in developing my video clip…J

video project!!!

It sounds interesting right but in reality it is quite tough for me to make educatinal video clips as I am not expert to make it. What should I do. What should I say. Learn, learn and learn from others. and the tutorial in using the window movie maker is really helpful to me. i have been exposed on how to use it. i will apply it to make my video project.
i do not know what to put in my video. i still thinking about some ideas in order to make it more interesting but i'm not sure about it . any suggestion for my video clip...

How you as a teacher will be learning?

It is a challenge to be a teacher in today’s world compared to the teachers in the past. The reason why I make this statement is because of the integration of technologies in the teaching and learning process has become an important part. So, all of the teachers should equip themselves with the knowledge or skills to use technology. As a result, they can practice PLEaSE in the teaching and learning process and hopefully we also can be considered as a SMART teacher too.

Me myself feel really unsecure for not being a techno savvy kind of person. so, by hook or by crook, I should take my own initiatives in order to learn about technology. I should ask my friends that are more skillful than me. I know it is very hard but for me it is better we learn it slowly rather than left behind. at least we can master it one by one and then we can intergrate it during the teaching and learning process. Technology became more advance as the time past by. Then teacher should always update their knowledge. in my point of view, a teacher is also a learner and learning process is for the whole life.

But with use of advance technology nowadays, I myself also can learn about it. I can explore about new softwares that can easily be download in the internet. This way will develop and enhance my knowledge too. As we all know, teacher should be a good role model for pupils. So, I need to be equipped with the technology skills before I can integrate it in the teaching and learning process. Teachers learning also should parallel with the advance of modern technology. It means that learning is life long process and teacher also should continue to learn...

How technology is going to affect how your students are going to be learning?

Nowadays, technology has play important role in teaching and learning process. According to the research new technologies can provide meaningful learning experiences for all children. I agreed with the statement above as we can see that our students are really interested in their learning if the teacher used technology in the learning process.

In my opinion, technology will produce meaningful, engaged and collaborative learning and through the technology it will change the way of learning. By using technology, teacher can create more challenging task but still the objective of the learning can be achieved as students will interested to learn with something new and challenge to them. This is because, technology will help them in understanding the topic learnt. By using technology, it will give concrete view to them and this will make them understand the lesson well. As we all know that primary pupils are concrete leraners and I believe that technology will change their way in learning. They will have meaningful experience in their learning. As a result, they will remember what had been learn easily. In addition, students also can explore the use of technology and they will practise it together with their friends.

Technology also can be a tool that can motivate students to learn as it will attract them with used of intereting and colourful pictures, animation, cartoons, attractive video clips and etc. Children love all these kind of teaching aids and this will help teacher to achieve their learning objective easily. As I said ealier, students also loves to learn something new. It seems that it is hard to master the skills in using technology but at least we try to make them experience and familiar with it as technology is really helpful in education.

Techno...PLEaSE...

First thing to say is I'm not a techno savvy kind of person and honestly I'm really worried to learn this subject. It's really challenging to me as I am not skillful on technology. However, I realized that technology is really important in our life nowadays especially in the education field. Technology play major role in delivering information to everybody and I really hope that I can learn more about technology in order to be a good teacher.

"Fiffy, please help me". I thought please is just a word to ask for help in polite manner but after I watched the first presentation from Dr. Maznah, I was so impressed with her. She seems very good in using technology. She give new definition for PLEaSE which is 'Personalize Learning Environment and Student Engagement' and it develops SMART teachers . This definition has broad view to be intrepeted as it related to me as a future primary teacher. I agreed that a teacher should be very creative in order to create good and meaningful learning environment. I admit that with the use of technology during the teaching and learning process, it will make pupils or students more interested to learn in all subjects.

It is not easy to be a SMART teacher if we do not have the skills in using technology. I hope from this course I can learn many ICT skills in order to practise,use and share with the pupils in future. PLEaSE shown that pupils learn in many ways and as a teacher, we are responsible to develop the strategies in order to enhance to motivate them in learning. lastly, I think PLEaSE should be practice in order to give meaningful experiences in the learning process.
